Privacy Policy

How Rate My Form handles camera and on-device form analysis, optional accounts, challenge activity, Pro Analyzer subscriptions, and optional ad measurement with Meta. Camera footage and pose analysis stay on your device. Account, challenge, purchase, and measurement-related data are handled as described below.

Camera frames and pose analysis run on your device and are not uploaded to Ludwig Fernandes’ servers. If you create an account or join challenges, we store account and challenge-related data with our service providers so those features can work. Purchase and subscription status are handled through Apple and RevenueCat. We also use the Meta (Facebook) SDK so we can measure and improve ads for Rate My Form on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook; that may involve device and usage data as described below, and is subject to your tracking choice on iOS.

Introduction

Rate My Form (“the App”) is developed by Ludwig Fernandes (“we,” “us,” or “our”). The App helps you check exercise form using your device’s camera, a live preview with a stick-figure (pose) overlay, real-time feedback on whether a movement looks correct, and deeper on-screen stats during analysis.

This Privacy Policy explains what information is involved when you use the App and how we treat it. By using Rate My Form, you agree to this policy.

Some features—such as deeper analysis views, progress tracking, session history, accounts, and challenges—may require an account and/or a Pro Analyzer subscription purchased through the Apple App Store. See our Terms of Use for subscription details.

We may also use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure and improve ads for Rate My Form on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. That use is described in the sections below and depends on your tracking choice on iOS.

Camera

Rate My Form requests access to your device camera solely to:

  • Show a live preview while you exercise
  • Draw a stick-figure overlay based on detected body pose
  • Provide real-time feedback on exercise form
  • Display deeper analysis statistics on your screen

Camera frames are processed for these features on your device. We do not upload your camera video or images to our servers, and we do not use the camera for advertising or unrelated purposes.

You can deny camera access when prompted, or revoke it later in iOS Settings → Rate My Form → Camera. Without camera access, core form-analysis features will not work.

On-Device Processing

Pose detection and form analysis run on your device. We do not use Apple HealthKit, and we do not ask for or collect age, height, weight, or other body metrics from you.

Camera video and images used for live form feedback are processed on your device. We do not upload that camera footage to our servers.

Saved Analyses and Progress

You can save form-analysis stats and metrics from your sessions and view your progress over time in the App (including features available with Pro Analyzer, such as progress tracking and session history).

Locally saved analysis data—such as session results, stats, and related metrics— is stored on your device. We do not upload that local history to Ludwig Fernandes’ servers for form-check history alone.

If you sync a session to a challenge, fitness-related stats from that session (for example exercise progress, reps, and related log details) and other challenge content you provide may be stored with our cloud providers and linked to your account so you and other participants can see challenge progress.

Data We Collect

Consistent with the App Store privacy details for Rate My Form, the following data may be collected. Unless noted otherwise, it is linked to your identity:

  • Contact Info — Name. Display name and username used for your profile and challenges. Used for App Functionality. Linked to your identity.
  • Contact Info — Email Address. Email used for account sign-in and account management. Used for App Functionality. Linked to your identity.
  • Health & Fitness — Fitness. Exercise and challenge activity you log or sync (such as sets, reps, and related workout progress). Used for App Functionality. Linked to your identity.
  • Location — Coarse Location. Approximate location inferred from network information (such as IP address) by Meta in connection with ad measurement. We do not request GPS or Location Services permission for this. Used for Analytics, Third-Party Advertising, and Developer’s Advertising or Marketing. Linked to your identity. Used for tracking purposes.
  • User Content — Other User Content. Content you create in the App for social features, such as challenge names and synced workout logs shared with challenge participants. Used for App Functionality. Linked to your identity.
  • Identifiers — User ID. Account identifiers such as your Firebase user ID and username/handle. Used for App Functionality. Linked to your identity.
  • Identifiers — Device ID. Device-level identifiers such as the advertising identifier (IDFA), when you allow tracking, and other device IDs used by the Meta SDK. Used for Analytics, Third-Party Advertising, and Developer’s Advertising or Marketing. Linked to your identity. Used for tracking purposes.
  • Purchases. Subscription and purchase history needed to unlock Pro Analyzer and manage entitlements (via Apple and RevenueCat) — used for App Functionality and Analytics. Purchase events may also be sent to Meta for ad measurement — used for Third-Party Advertising, Developer’s Advertising or Marketing, and tracking purposes. Linked to your identity.
  • Usage Data — Product Interaction. App events such as installs and launches collected via the Meta SDK. Used for Analytics, Third-Party Advertising, and Developer’s Advertising or Marketing. Linked to your identity. Used for tracking purposes.

Diagnostics — Crash Data related to the Meta SDK may also be collected to help keep the SDK stable. That crash data is used for App Functionality and is not linked to your identity, and is not used for tracking.

We do not sell your personal information. Some data listed above (device ID, product interaction, purchases, and coarse location related to Meta) may be used to measure and improve ads for Rate My Form on Meta-owned platforms and may be used for tracking as defined by Apple when you allow App Tracking Transparency. Your camera footage, on-device pose analysis, and workout videos are not used for advertising or tracking.

Accounts

Creating an account is optional for some App features, but required for challenges and other cloud features. When you sign up or sign in, we collect your email address, name or username, and a user ID so we can authenticate you and show your profile to other participants where those features apply.

Account data is stored using Firebase Authentication and related cloud services. You can sign out in the App. You may also request account deletion in the App or by contacting us at the email below.

Deleting the App

Uninstalling or deleting Rate My Form from your device deletes the App’s local user data on that device, including locally saved analysis stats, metrics, and session history stored by the App.

Uninstalling the App does not by itself delete your cloud account, challenge data, or cancel an active Apple subscription. To delete your account, use account deletion in the App or contact us. To stop billing, manage or cancel Pro Analyzer in your Apple ID Account Settings (Subscriptions), as described in our Terms of Use.

To request deletion of your account and related cloud data, use account deletion in the App or email us. Denying tracking in iOS Settings limits future identifier use for Meta ad measurement; for choices about ads and data on Meta’s platforms, see also Meta’s Privacy Policy and your Meta account settings.

Subscriptions and Purchases

Rate My Form offers auto-renewable Pro Analyzer subscriptions through the Apple App Store. Payments are processed by Apple. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.

Apple may process purchase-related information under Apple’s privacy practices. For how Apple handles App Store transactions and subscriptions, see Apple’s privacy information and your Apple ID settings. Subscription terms, pricing, renewal, and cancellation are described in our Terms of Use.

If you request a refund for a Pro Analyzer purchase or subscription, we (through our subscription provider, RevenueCat) may share purchase-related information with Apple to help Apple review that request. That can include whether the purchase was delivered and related App Store subscription or purchase activity. We do not send your camera footage, pose data, or saved workout stats to Apple or RevenueCat for this purpose. Apple makes the refund decision under Apple’s policies. Third-Party Technology

Rate My Form uses MediaPipe to estimate body pose on your device for the stick-figure overlay and form feedback. This technology is intended to run locally on the device as part of the App’s analysis pipeline.

Rate My Form uses Firebase (including Authentication and Firestore) to provide optional accounts, profiles, and challenges. Firebase may process account identifiers, contact information, fitness activity you sync to challenges, and other user content needed for those features. See Firebase’s privacy information and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Rate My Form uses RevenueCat to manage App Store subscriptions and related purchase events. RevenueCat processes subscription status and purchase identifiers needed to unlock Pro Analyzer, for analytics related to purchases, and to respond to Apple when you request a refund, as described above. We do not use RevenueCat to upload your camera footage or on-device pose analysis.

Rate My Form uses the Meta (Facebook) SDK (App Events) so we can measure installs, app opens, and in-app purchases, and understand which ads for Rate My Form on Instagram, Facebook, and related Meta surfaces are effective. Meta may receive device identifiers, app event / product interaction data, purchase events, approximate location derived from network information (such as IP address), and limited diagnostic crash data related to the SDK. Meta processes this information under Meta’s Privacy Policy. We do not use the Meta SDK to upload your camera footage or on-device pose analysis, and we do not show third-party ads inside the App.

We do not sell your information. We do not share your camera footage or on-device pose analysis with Meta, Firebase, RevenueCat, or other partners for advertising. Limited device and usage data may be shared with Meta for advertising measurement as described above. For Google’s practices related to MediaPipe, see also Google’s documentation for MediaPipe.

Advertising and Measurement

We may promote Rate My Form with ads on Instagram, Facebook, and related Meta platforms. The Meta SDK helps us measure whether those ads lead to installs and in-app purchases, and to improve how we reach people interested in calisthenics form feedback. This can involve linking data from the App with Meta’s data for advertising measurement when you allow tracking on iOS. If you deny tracking, Meta’s use of certain identifiers is limited and Meta may rely on privacy-preserving measurement methods instead.

Your Choices

  • Allow or deny Camera permission when iOS asks, or change it in Settings
  • Choose whether to create an account or use challenge features
  • Choose whether to save analysis stats locally and whether to sync sessions to challenges
  • Sign out or delete your account in the App, or contact us
  • Manage or cancel Pro Analyzer in Apple ID → Subscriptions
  • Uninstall the App to remove local saved data from that device
  • Allow or deny tracking when iOS shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt, or change it later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Rate My Form. Denying tracking does not block core form-analysis features.

Children’s Privacy

Rate My Form is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and we do not knowingly share such information with Meta or other partners. If you believe a child has provided information through the App in a way that concerns you, contact us and we will address it appropriately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. The current version will always be available at this URL. Continued use of the App after an update means you should review the revised policy.
