Why does Rate My Form need the camera?

The camera powers the live preview, stick-figure overlay, and form analysis. Without camera access, those features cannot run. You can change permission anytime in iOS Settings → Rate My Form → Camera.

Is my workout data sent to a server?

Live camera footage and pose analysis run on your device and are not uploaded to Ludwig Fernandes’ servers. If you create an account, join challenges, or sync a session to a challenge, account and challenge-related data may be stored with our service providers. After you log in, your Firebase user ID is linked to RevenueCat so your account email can be tied to your purchases and entitlements. We also use PostHog for product analytics that is not tied to your user identity. Limited device, usage, and advertising-related data may be shared with Google AdMob (for in-app rewarded ads) and Meta (for measuring our own marketing ads), as described in our Privacy Policy. Workout video is not sent to ad partners.

Why does Rate My Form use photos?

If you create a workout stats card with a custom background, the app lets you choose a photo from your library using the iOS photo picker. The selected photo is used on your device to build the card; it is not uploaded to our servers. Form analysis works without choosing a custom photo.

How do I save a workout stats card to my Photos?

After you create a card, use the share option in the app and choose Save Image or Save to Photos. If iOS asks for permission to add photos, allow it so the card can be saved to your library. You can change this anytime in iOS Settings → Rate My Form → Photos.

Do I need an account?

Not for basic on-device form checks. An account is required for challenges and related cloud features. Rate My Form does not use HealthKit, and we do not ask for body metrics like age, height, or weight.

The camera preview is blank or permission was denied

Open Settings → Rate My Form → Camera and turn access on. Then reopen the app. If the issue continues, restart your iPhone and try again, or email us with your device model and iOS version.

Why does the app ask to track my activity?

iOS may show an App Tracking Transparency prompt so we can measure which ads help people discover Rate My Form (for example on Instagram or Facebook) and, where allowed, support personalized advertising. Your workout videos stay on your device and are not used for tracking. You can allow or deny this; denying does not block form analysis. Change it anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Rate My Form. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

What is “Watch Ad To Unlock Analysis”?

If you are not on a paid Pro Analyzer subscription, you may see an option to watch a short rewarded ad (Google AdMob) to temporarily unlock extra coaching and improvement tips (for example for about 30 minutes). Completing the ad does not charge your Apple ID and does not start a subscription. When the temporary unlock ends, you return to the free experience unless you subscribe or watch another eligible ad. Ads may not always be available depending on your network and region.

Why did I see a privacy / consent message about ads?

In some regions (for example the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), Google’s consent tools may ask how your data can be used for ads before ads are initialized. You can choose your options there. Core form analysis still works without watching ads. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.

The stick figure isn’t detecting my pose well

Try these tips for a clearer pose:

• Stand where your full body is visible in the frame
• Use even lighting; avoid strong backlight
• Keep the phone stable, ideally propped up
• Wear clothing that contrasts with your background

What do the analysis stats mean?

After or during a session, the app can show deeper on-screen feedback about your form. Live analysis is generated on your device. Locally saved history stays on your device unless you sync a session to a challenge or use cloud features that store challenge-related data with our providers, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Why does the App Store mention Location if you don’t ask for my location?

Rate My Form does not use GPS or ask for Location Services. Approximate (“coarse”) location can be inferred from network information such as IP address when Google AdMob shows ads or Meta measures our marketing ads. That is separate from the Camera permission. See our Privacy Policy.

How do I manage or cancel Pro Analyzer?

Paid subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID. You can manage or cancel in the App’s Customer Center, or go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions (or Apple ID → Subscriptions). Deleting the app does not cancel billing. Temporary unlocks from rewarded ads are not Apple subscriptions and do not appear there — they simply expire after the shown duration. How do I request a refund?

Refunds for Pro Analyzer are handled by Apple. Where available (for example a roughly 14-day window under Apple’s or applicable consumer rules), you can start a request from the Customer Center in the App or through App Store / Apple ID subscription management (including reportaproblem.apple.com). Apple decides whether to grant the refund. See our Terms of Use.

Do you use analytics that identify me?

We use PostHog for product analytics to improve the App. That analytics is not tied to your user identity or account. Separately, after you log in, your Firebase user ID is linked to RevenueCat so purchases and entitlements match your account. Advertising and measurement partners are described in our Privacy Policy.
